Work At SEDP

Staffing Standards

SEDP only hires the best teachers and staff! We maintain rigorous criteria for hiring staff. All candidates must meet minimum standards regarding background, education and experience, as well as physical requirements.  Because SEDP is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC), strict state requirements must be met as well, including thresholds for the level of experience with children aged 5 and older.  All SEDP staff members are CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and subject to DSS (Department of Social Services) Background checks before they are hired and are re-checked at least every two years.

For more information on the requirements to be hired, please contact Karen at 508-481-9353, or simply download and fill out an application here.

Parents Need to Know...

Parents should know that all staff members become acquainted with the program philosophy, policies and procedures prior to working with the kids. All staff are trained on health and safety procedures each year.

All staff attend meetings to review program logistics and policies, training, team building and special topics such as behavior management, dealing with difficult situations and curriculum development.

Each Site Coordinator holds monthly staff meetings to discuss site-specific topics.  We make every effort to be sure our staff meets rigorous requirements so that parents feel comfortable that their children are spending time with great role models.
